(We have a hunch they can make people dumber too.) SuperCards is an attempt to turn this little device that definitely fragments our attention into one that can also reward it.
What it's built to be
You can use it however you want, here's what we want it to be.
Focused.
Attention is getting scarcer, and we think that makes it more valuable than ever. SuperCards is designed to protect yours. Study Mode is simple and immersive: no feeds or streaks or notifications. Just you and what you want to pay attention to.
Local.
There's no account to create or server to trust, because we don't have any. Every deck is a folder stored locally on your devices or, if you choose, in iCloud Drive. Every card is a plain, human-readable file. We can't see your notes (or help you if you lose them). Your data is yours.
Open.
Because every card is a plain file in a documented format, your notecards outlive the app. Back them up, version them, grep them or share them with someone else like you would with any other file.
Simple.
The notecard is one of the oldest, most proven learning tools there is: two sides, endless uses. We didn't reinvent it. We just wanted to bring the versatility and simplicity of paper notecards to the digital realm.
Free.
SuperCards is free to download and free to use, with every feature included. It's self-funded and built by a small team. You can purchase a license if you want to help support the project, but it's completely optional. We're not backed by investors and we don't have ads — we're just trying to make an app that we like using, and we hope you do too.

Before building SuperCards, JP used paper notecards to plan the day, take notes, remember Wikipedia “facts,” and learn new vocabulary words. He firmly believes that a stack of 3x5 cards is one of the most powerful and versatile self-development tools that ever existed and wants you to believe it too.
