Version 0.7.5
Cards look the same on iPhone as they do in the editor • Thumbnails match the editor's line spacing • Study Mode opens with your latest synced edits
0.7.5 · macOS, iOS
The Mac and iPhone apps now carry separate version numbers. Items marked (iOS) are in SuperCards Mobile 1.0.0.
New Features
- Sample decks on first launch (iOS): When the app first opens to an empty library, it adds two sample decks, “Start Here” and “Introducing SuperCards”, so there is something to study right away
Improvements
- Text lands where you put it (iOS): Study Mode now typesets text by the same rules as the Card Editor, so line spacing, line breaks and alignment on your iPhone match what you designed on your Mac. This covers custom line heights, mixed text sizes on one line, and long paragraphs that used to wrap one word differently
- Lists and inline code in Study Mode (iOS): Numbered and bulleted lists keep their indent, their nesting and their starting number, and inline code gets its monospaced font and background, as in the editor
- Thumbnails match the editor (macOS): Card previews in the Library, Card Controls and the Card Editor’s thumbnail strip now use the editor’s line spacing and baselines, and wrap system-font text where the editor does
- “System” in the font menu (macOS): Text with no font set now reads “System”, and you can pick System to return any text to the system font
- Alignment menu shows the current setting (macOS): With a text box selected, a checkmark marks its horizontal and vertical alignment
- Softer highlight (macOS): Highlighted text keeps its own color on a pale yellow background, so highlights stay readable on dark cards
- VoiceOver in Study Mode (iOS): VoiceOver reads the visible face of the current card only, and reads list numbers along with their items
Bug Fixes
- Study Mode shows your latest edits (iOS): After you edited a deck on your Mac, the first time you opened it on your iPhone could still show the old cards. Study Mode now waits for the newest synced version of a deck’s cards before opening it
- Line height 1.2 now applies (macOS): Choosing a custom line height of 1.2 did nothing, and untouched text showed the wrong value in the menu. Untouched text now correctly reads 1.5, and every other value is applied and saved
- No extra blank line under lists (macOS): A text box ending in a list, code block or math block no longer grows an empty line at the bottom
- Text alignment on iPhone (iOS): A paragraph with no alignment set could jump to the right or center edge in Study Mode. It now stays left, as in the editor
- Card titles survive navigation (macOS): Going back to a card in the Card Editor could overwrite its title
- Imported text boxes fit their text (macOS): Decks imported from AI-generated files size text boxes slightly taller, so a very long heading or paragraph can’t end up taller than its box
- Bold headings in thumbnails (macOS): Imported headings with bold or italic set on the whole text box now show that formatting in previews
- App icon on older macOS (macOS): On macOS versions before Tahoe, the app icon appeared as a plain square. It now has the standard rounded shape in the Dock and Finder
Technical Updates
- One written text contract shared by the editor, the preview generator and iOS, checked against 422 text fixtures measured from the real editor
- A drift guard fails the build when the editor’s text styles change without the fixtures being re-measured
- New built-in card templates use Times New Roman, which both platforms ship
- Startup records how long each launch phase takes and how many library files iCloud has offloaded, to help diagnose slow launches
