Study Mode and gestures
Study Mode is the iOS app's whole reason for being: a full-screen, landscape, gesture-driven way to review your cards that feels closer to a game than an app.
Why landscape?
Turning your phone sideways isn't just about matching the shape of a paper notecard. It removes the visual grammar of the feed — no scroll, no competing choices, no notifications — so it's just you and the card.
The gestures
- Double-tap — flip the card
- Swipe left or right — next or previous card
- Swipe down from the top — open the overlay with your progress, the study timer, and the exit button
- Diagonal flick — toss a card you've mastered out of the session, confetti included
- Shake — undo the last toss
The card stack
Cards sit in a three-card stack — the previous and next cards peek out from behind the current one, so moving through a deck feels physical. A subtle "N / M" badge shows your position after every move, and full session stats (including a study timer) are one swipe away.
Toss to learn
The toss gesture turns any deck into a self-sorting drill: toss what you know, keep flipping what you don't, and the session narrows to exactly the cards that need work. Shake to bring back the last toss, or restore everything and run it again.
What you'll see
Cards render exactly as they were designed on your Mac — rich text, code with syntax highlighting, math, and images all appear pixel-accurate. Cards scale down to fit smaller screens; content is never stretched or reflowed.
